Congratulations Daniel Lain! August Casey’s Public House Student of the Month

Marple Friends & Neighbors, August 2023

The August Casey’s Public House Student of the Month is Daniel Lain, who is a rising Senior at Marple Newtown High School (MNHS). Daniel enjoys a very well-rounded high school experience and received a Certificate of Achievement and a $25 gift card from Casey’s Public House, our Sponsor of this program.

Dan is an Honor Student who is enrolled in multiple AP and college level courses, plus he’s a member of the National Honor Society in Science, English and Social Studies.

According to those who know Dan, they describe him as a very personable, affable person with a positive outlook on life. This is evidenced by the fact that Dan is the recipient of the ‘Positive on People Award,’ which is given to students who are nominated by staff members for being positive role models for other students.

Taking part in various activities is important to Dan. He is a member of Best Buddies, the Math Club, Interact and the Fellowship Club. He also enjoys taking part in several sports teams at MNHS, including cross country and track.

Dan is a graduate of St. Anastasia’s, where he was an alter server and frequent volunteer. He currently works at Fresco Pizza Grill in Newtown Square and is always happy to see friends and relatives come in for a great meal. He greets everyone with a smile and loves meeting new people.

Recently Dan built his own desktop computer from scratch, which is amazing when you consider he’s just 17 years old! He’s looking forward to attending college after graduation and is considering a career in Engineering.

Thanks so much Dan for being the light in the lives of so many. Casey’s is thrilled to have Dan featured as their Student of the Month, and everyone here at Newtown Square and Marple Friends & Neighbors sends our congratulations to Dan for this special award.

Know a terrific teen who should be our next Student of the Month?

Here’s what we look for – Students from grades 7 to 12 who demonstrate excellence in service to school, friendship, community or area groups, and reside within the geographical borders of the Marple, Newtown Square or Edgmont (no matter what school they attend, or if they are homeschooled). Submit your nomination, highlighting what makes them so amazing, to LJeffries@BestVersionMedia.com. Academic or athletic excellence is not required.
