Back In the Spotlight: The Boon Family

Marple Friends & Neighbors, January 2026

Over the past six years, Marple Friends & Neighbors has featured many heartfelt and homegrown stories from our community. This month, we are excited to check back in with The Boon Family, who have lived in Broomall since 2012. Since they moved in, they have been making their neighborhood one big family. If you recall, the Boon’s story first appeared in our May 2021 issue, and if you missed it, you can catch up by reading
about their journey online at MarpleMag.com.

When we first featured the Boons, we were still in the midst of the pandemic. Kristina and Brent and their young children Corrine and Colin brought cheer and connection to their neighborhood with their elaborate holiday light displays, a Free Library outside their home and freshly baked cupcakes.

Kristina and Brent are both very creative, as evidenced by a beautiful swing on their porch that Brent made and Kristina is known around town for being a delicious baker. Back in 2020 they combined efforts with neighbors and create a holiday light display that included a lit up archway. “We knew the holidays were going to look a little different that year,” recalled Kristina. “We thought we’d do a little extra to put to get people into the holiday spirit.”

That community spirit and helping neighbors is still very important to the Boons. Recently Kristina and Brent and their two children have been actively involved with Limitless Sports, an organization that offers sports and activities for children of all abilities. “It was our daughter Corrine, who lead us to Limitless Sports,”explained Kristina. “She has a passion for helping children, especially peers with special needs.” Corrine, who was seven when featured in Marple Friends & Neighbors, is now 11 and a sixth grader at Paxon Hollow Middle School. She dances at Touch of Class in Broomall, where she was invited to be pre pointe this year. She enjoys being a Best Buddy and being the ultimate baseball sister when she’s not busy dancing and hanging out with friends.

Corrine’s younger brother Colin, now seven, also loves volunteering at Limitless. Colin is a second grader at Russell Elementary and a true baseball kid! He stays busy with his tournament baseball team for Marple Township Little League and the Brawlers travel team.

These days Brent enjoys coaching baseball and helping maintain the MTLL baseball fields. “I love teaching the young players the fundamentals of baseball,” he said. He is also currently volun- teering with Alyssa Galligan, founder of Limitless Sports, to put together baseball activities that will work for the athletes. For Kristina, she loves being part of it all! “I look forward to spring every year for two reasons: baseball and the dance recital,”
she said. “Two places I get to have a front row seat to see my children and husband doing what they love!” Kristina also finds it so rewarding for their family to be together each week volunteering with the Limitless organization. “It’s fun and fulfilling to be among so many great kids and families having fun together,” she added.

With their creativity, kindness, and dedication continue to bring people together, we’re glad the Boon family chose Broomall to call home!
