Congratulations Carolyn! February Casey’s Student of the Month

Marple Friends & Neighbors, February 2024

The February Casey’s Public House Student of the Month is Carolyn Meehan, who is a Senior at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, and also received a Certificate of Achievement and a $25 gift card from Casey’s Public House, our Sponsor of this program.

Carolyn relieves stress by playing sports and being active in her community. She is a Team Leader in her school’s volunteering and fundraising efforts for Cradles to Crayons, which helps underprivileged children, and also acts as the liaison between her school and Cradles to Crayons in Philadelphia. A life-long active member of St. Anastasia Church, Carolyn was also selected as one of five Student ministers in the campus ministry at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur.

Carolyn is on both the Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Softball teams, and last year she was awarded the most improved Junior on her Varsity softball team. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Club.

Never one to slow down, Carolyn works at both Splash Swim Club and Delco Steaks, as well as babysitting and baking. Her family’s love of travel has definitely rubbed off on Carolyn, who plans to travel to Ireland this summer to see one of her many cousins. She is grandchild number 26 and her father is one of 10 children!

Carolyn was accepted and plans to attend Penn State University’s main campus in the Fall of 2024, with an undecided major, as of yet. She wants to get a feel before deciding on anything permanent but is wavering between business and health care. We can’t wait to see where your story goes next Carolyn. Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life with us!

Know a terrific teen who should be our next Student of the Month?
Here’s what we look for – Students from grades 7 to 12 who demonstrate excellence in service to school, friendship, community or area groups, and reside within the geographical borders of the Marple, Newtown Square or Edgmont (no matter what school they attend, or if they are homeschooled). Submit your nomination, highlighting what makes them so amazing, to LJeffries@BestVersionMedia.com. Academic or athletic excellence is not required.
